It was a pride and privilege to be invited as faculty at ISACON Gujarat 2026, the 58th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Gujarat State Branch, held at Vadodara.
I had the opportunity to deliver a lecture on a relatively novel and fascinating topic:
“Inside the Sleeping Airway: Lessons for Anaesthesia”
The session focused on the concept of the dynamic upper airway and how airway behaviour changes during sleep and sedation. Through a series of endoscopic videos, I demonstrated real-time airway dynamics—including different patterns of upper airway collapse—and discussed their relevance to anaesthetic practice, airway management and perioperative care.
It was particularly gratifying to see the session very well attended and warmly appreciated by the delegates.
Being on the dais of a state-level ISACON conference, sharing knowledge with fellow anaesthesiologists and contributing to academic learning was truly a proud and memorable experience.
🙏 Grateful to the organisers of ISACON Gujarat 2026 for the invitation and opportunity to contribute.
“Understanding the airway when it is awake is important; understanding the airway when it sleeps can be transformative for anaesthesia.”
